Fire Commissioner Position #1 Michael Van Beek Commissioner Van Beek is a Battalion Chief of EMS and Fire Prevention with Richland Fire and Emergency Services.  He holds a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Oregon University in fire service administration. He lives in the service area of BCFD4 with his wife, Tamara and their two children. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. This includes watching his kids play sports, camping, and watching the Seahawks. He also enjoys woodworking and is currently restoring a 1984 Chevy pickup. [email protected]

Fire Commissioner Position #2
Garrett Goodwin Garrett joined BCFD4 in spring 2011 as a volunteer firefighter. In the fall of 2011, he transferred positions to be a resident firefighter and held that position until spring of 2016. During his time as a resident, he achieved an Associate of Arts degree in Fire Science from Columbia Basin College as well as a Bachelor’s of Science in Fire Administration with a Minor in Communications from Eastern Oregon University. After his time as a resident, Garrett went back to being a volunteer, where he is still playing an active role. Garrett is currently married and has one son. He enjoys camping, hiking and being outside.

Frederick Brink
Commissioner Brink also serves on the West Richland City Council, and is active member of the Washington State Emergency Management Council; Benton County Law and Justice Council; Hanford Advisory Board (Department of Energy); and the Legislative Priorities Committee and the State and Federal Policy Committee, both for the Association of Washington Cities. His extensive public service, as well as leadership and management skills developed over his career in the U.S. Navy, F.B.I. and at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory will benefit our fire district and residents.
