Experience a day with Benton County Fire District #4.

Our Ride-Along Program lets community members, students, and prospective fire/EMS applicants observe BCFD#4 crews during a normal shift. Participants are observers only and do not perform firefighting or patient care.

Who Can Participate

  • Community members interested in fire/EMS
  • Students exploring public safety or health careers
  • Prospective volunteers or applicants

How to Apply

  1. Request a date – Contact BCFD#4.
  2. Background check – Criminal history and OIG screening required.
  3. Sign forms – Confidentiality, Hold Harmless, Activities Description, and (if under 18) minor release and background forms.
  4. Get scheduled – Once cleared, we’ll confirm your shift details.

Dress & Rules

  • Wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. No sandals, shorts, or loose clothing.
  • Follow crew directions at all times.
  • No alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or weapons.
  • No recording during incidents; photos require officer approval.
  • Phones silent and put away during responses.

Day-of Checklist

  • Photo ID (minors with parent/guardian)
  • Proper clothing and shoes
  • Arrive on time and check in with the officer
  • Bring your own meals; contribute if crew buys in
  • Leave valuables at home
