Ride-Along Program
Experience a day with Benton County Fire District #4.
Our Ride-Along Program lets community members, students, and prospective fire/EMS applicants observe BCFD#4 crews during a normal shift. Participants are observers only and do not perform firefighting or patient care.
Who Can Participate
- Community members interested in fire/EMS
- Students exploring public safety or health careers
- Prospective volunteers or applicants
How to Apply
- Request a date – Contact BCFD#4.
- Background check – Criminal history and OIG screening required.
- Sign forms – Confidentiality, Hold Harmless, Activities Description, and (if under 18) minor release and background forms.
- Get scheduled – Once cleared, we’ll confirm your shift details.
Dress & Rules
- Wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. No sandals, shorts, or loose clothing.
- Follow crew directions at all times.
- No alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or weapons.
- No recording during incidents; photos require officer approval.
- Phones silent and put away during responses.
Day-of Checklist
- Photo ID (minors with parent/guardian)
- Proper clothing and shoes
- Arrive on time and check in with the officer
- Bring your own meals; contribute if crew buys in
- Leave valuables at home
