Operation Candy Cane Food Drive December 16
Firefighters collect food donations for community members in need at Flat Top Park
WEST RICHLAND, WASH. – Benton County Fire District 4 will be hosting its 22nd annual food drive to help those in need this holiday season. Please bring a non-perishable food item to Flat Top Park on December 16 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Your local firefighters and Santa’s helpers will be on hand with decorated fire trucks to accept your donations and pass out candy canes.
All donated food will be distributed to families in need with the help of Operation We Care – Tri-Cities. Yokes Fresh Market and Craig Bolling with LPL Financial also contributes to and supports Operation Candy Cane.
Firefighters will also be accepting donations of non-perishable food items at Fire Station 420 through December 18. Fire Station 420 is located at 2604 Bombing Range Road.

Benton County Fire District 4 provides fire and emergency medical service (EMS) to approximately 20,000 people over 52 square miles. Our service area includes the city of West Richland and its immediate unincorporated areas, but we are a separate taxing district. In 2021, approximately 56 volunteer and career firefighters, emergency medical technicians, and paramedics responded to 2,054 calls, 62% of which were EMS-related.
